Toluna.com
Toluna is a site I joined based off of someone else's recommendation after I decided to branch out from sites like SurveySpot. Toluna like a host of other survey sites had me fill out profiles when I first joined. These profiles are used to send you surveys that match your information. My experience has been that the profiles are not worth filling out. Consider this for a moment, even after completing a profiler with a survey site your more then likely to receive surveys that have nothing to do with any information that you may have provided upon initially signing up. So while in some cases it may be worth filling them out I've made out fine on other sites where I haven't filled the profilers out.
Having said that I actually did fill out the profilers for Toluna, from the great information I had received on them I felt it would be better for me to fill them out, and see if I could start getting surveys faster. I wanted to have all my ducks in a row for lack of a better term. After taken each and every profiler they had on their site I got ready to kick back, and let the surveys start rolling in.
Well after a couple of weeks, I decided that Toluna wasn't going to be a survey company that I would be with. Not only had I not received a survey yet, but when I tried to log on to their website I had to request my sign-in information again because I couldn't remember it. I came back to Toluna everyday for a week, and received the same message over, and over again. "You have no available surveys at this time" When you do surveys part time like I do those are the words that you don't want to hear. That essentially tells me that I can't make any extra money today. That's not a very good thing in my book. But I couldn't get upset this would just be another survey website that I wouldn't be a part of. I still belonged to countless others. The other sites could keep me occupied I suppose.
Those were my feelings towards Toluna up until last month when out of nowhere, and I do mean nowhere I received an e-mail from Toluna indicating that I had a survey available. I'm thinking to myself "Where did the hell did this come from all of a sudden"? It had been at least six months from when I orginally signed up, and now you want to send me my first survey. Normally I would have just left it alone, and not thought any more of it. me being a creature of habit though I just had to know what the survey was for. Some of the best surveys are the ones you never open, or decide that it's not worth it due to the time limit, and amount being offered.
I opened the invitation, and the survey was nothing special. It was worth 3,000 points which I thought to be a lot of points initally. That was until I found out that Tolunas cashout threshold was 60,000 points which equals out to $20. Whatever I said to myself. I've seen point threshold that were even worse then that. I took my first survey got my 3,000 points, and logged out for the day. That would start a very bright future with Toluna. After that day I continued to receive multiple invitations for surveys a day. Not only that they gave me more incentive's for visiting their site on a daily basis. They had sponsored polls which could lead to a survey opportunity all I had to do was vote. I could get free points is what I like to compare it to. Free points and not even take a survey. Believe me the points add up pretty quickly. They also have an area on the website that tells you about product studies that are coming up that you can apply for to test the products out at home. How nice is that?
I'm finally at my cash out threshold which really took no time at all. I have no need to cash out anytime soon though. You see me and one of my buddies want to see how much we can save up over one year's time. It can be tough seeing the money in your account and not touching it. But at the end of the day I dont need to spend any of it at the moment. These are my thoughts on Toluna thus far. I'll update with more opinions as I continue using their site.
Until the next time folks.............
